Thankful for Thanksgiving

When I moved away to Asheville, I realized I could no longer spend all the holidays with my family and friends in Vero.  Time off was extremely hard and the trip was much too far to make a weekend out of it.  With no family around and a few friends that left to return home with their family, it made holidays tough.  I am lucky enough to have a mom (and dad) that would always venture up and help make the holiday special for me.

These are my favorites.  I know our beauty isn't something to frame here, but the story is.  After endless hours of playing in Asheville and chopping down a Christmas tree on Thanksgiving, we canceled our Biltmore reservation and decided to "wing it" for Thanksgiving dinner instead.  Little did we know that NOTHING was open in Asheville. After an hour of driving around, we thankfully found a pizza place that was open. Pizza and red wine (and lots of laughter).  A memory we shared together.

Countless Thanksgivings (well the Saturday after) were spent driving back to school or to UF for the big game! Never a time went by where I didn't attend.  It was another thing that reminds me of Thanksgiving and being together with people we've been friends with forever.

Go Florida State!

Last Thanksgiving we were lucky enough to be in Vero with my family.  Miss Kennedy was just a count-down and ever growing.

This Thanksgiving will be extra special for many reasons. This will be Kennedy's 1st Thanksgiving with family.  I love experiencing everything through her eyes.  Best part, both sets of grandparents will be in attendance (and an amazing aunt & uncle)! That is one lucky girl to be surrounded with so much love.

My parents may freeze (they are calling for snow Thanksgiving day), but our hearts will be filled with so much warmth we'll have no problem staying warm.

Happy Thanksgiving all!
