Christmas is Coming...

Looking forward to Kennedy's 1st Christmas.  I wanted to share some from the years previously...and many more!

Time

"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house,
the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon
and that you will- to your surprise- miss them profoundly."

It hit me- my baby girl isn't really a baby anymore.  Sure she may be in the infant room at daycare (not for long!) and refuses to wear shoes, but this little girl is changing before our eyes.  She just learned to dance.  Where did she pick that up?  Are we dancing around the house without notice? She shakes her head and wiggles her body. You start singing to her and she just follows suit!  It may be the cutest darn thing ever and it's still the beginning of the week.

Her top two teeth have come in! Man, talk about tough business.  That's a job all on its own.  And to think she is gonna lose them and have to do this all again. I'm not going to mention this to her just yet.

Our 9 (and a half) month knows the world already:
I'm pretty sure she knows if she throws food off the tray of the highchair, Polo loves her more.
The more I say "ma-ma", the more she repeats "da-da".
Cheerios solve all the problems of the world.
When you fall on the ground extra hard and everyone cheers, you brush yourself off & keep going.
Being thrown in the air by your dad is a rush like nothing else.
Vegetables taste better with a smidge of butter and parm cheese.
Sometimes being held is all you need to forget your troubles.

"...And I thought I loved you then."

Thankful for Thanksgiving

When I moved away to Asheville, I realized I could no longer spend all the holidays with my family and friends in Vero.  Time off was extremely hard and the trip was much too far to make a weekend out of it.  With no family around and a few friends that left to return home with their family, it made holidays tough.  I am lucky enough to have a mom (and dad) that would always venture up and help make the holiday special for me.
A Stable Cafe Thanksgiving lunch spent together

These are my favorites.  I know our beauty isn't something to frame here, but the story is.  After endless hours of playing in Asheville and chopping down a Christmas tree on Thanksgiving, we canceled our Biltmore reservation and decided to "wing it" for Thanksgiving dinner instead.  Little did we know that NOTHING was open in Asheville. After an hour of driving around, we thankfully found a pizza place that was open. Pizza and red wine (and lots of laughter).  A memory we shared together.

Countless Thanksgivings (well the Saturday after) were spent driving back to school or to UF for the big game! Never a time went by where I didn't attend.  It was another thing that reminds me of Thanksgiving and being together with people we've been friends with forever.

Go Florida State!

Last Thanksgiving we were lucky enough to be in Vero with my family.  Miss Kennedy was just a count-down and ever growing.

This Thanksgiving will be extra special for many reasons. This will be Kennedy's 1st Thanksgiving with family.  I love experiencing everything through her eyes.  Best part, both sets of grandparents will be in attendance (and an amazing aunt & uncle)! That is one lucky girl to be surrounded with so much love.

My parents may freeze (they are calling for snow Thanksgiving day), but our hearts will be filled with so much warmth we'll have no problem staying warm.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Love Is In The Air

"Fall has always been my favorite season.  The time when everything
bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up
all year for the grand finale."

"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."

"Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons."

"I love autumn, the one season of the year that God seemed to have put there just for the beauty of it."

"If you stand still outside you can hear it... Winter's footsteps, the sound of falling leaves. "

Eight Months Old

Truthfully, I felt like I was pregnant forever! It's hard to believe this beautiful and sweet baby is 8 months old.  I feel like these past 8 months have flown by in a blink!

Our sweet girl is a mastered crawler, can pull-up on everything, feeds herself tiny food, holds her own bottle, loves water, belly laughs all the time, demands to be held, loves walks around the neighborhood in her red wagon, and makes the sweetest little coo noises.

Kennedy's 1st pumpkin- she picked it out

She prefers chewing on the pumpkin, but tried our best to not encourage it

We love you so much, Kennedy Ryan!

Pumpkins!

It's true- I have a weird love for fall & every single thing Pumpkin! Coffee, bagels, beer, donuts, creamer, muffins, pie, pancakes... you name it & I am in! I have been counting down the days until this amazing season arrives.  Now may crisp weather & fall leaves start coming our way...
I even walked into Trader Joe's yesterday and saw these and were instantly SOLD.
Of course, I am ALL about a pumpkin patch! So we jumped on the wagon (literally- Hay ride wagon) and headed with the neighbors.

We got a Pro!

That little baby girl that was in my belly less than 8 months ago is now crawling around.  People warned me about this.  How waiting for her to arrive took FOREVER, but now that she's here time is on fast-forward.  Our little blessing is growing like a weed.
