Polo Stu Turner

Ryan & I have been practicing our parenting skills on our little puppy, Polo.  He is 18 weeks old (1 week older than the baby growing in my belly) and has stolen our hearts.  We look forward to having him grow up with a baby to play with and protect.

I know lots of photos of Polo, but with a face that sweet it is hard to resist!! Oh yeah- not to leave any thing out.

Here's Violet too...
My first born and sassiest kitty I know.  Violet is Polo's favorite toy to play with and bother.  Thank goodness kitty cats can hide.

Home, Sweet Home.

As I'm sure you know, we are beyond excited for our new house to get on the way! We have picked everything out, went to the show room, and now we are just waiting for some permits and the construction will be on its way!
Welcome to the neighborhood!
Sure, its just a big pile of uneven dirt and old grass... but to us its going to be so much more.  I can hardly wait to decorate our home and the baby's nursery to welcome her (fine.. or him!) into when arriving home from the hospital.  It will be the place where countless birthday parties and dinner parties will be held.  Growing family dinners and laughter filling the hallways while Polo chases the kids around. This will be where they loose their first tooth and where Ryan & I learn to cook for a family (and not just for us).  Most excitingly, this will be my first set of trick-or-treaters ever and having enough room to actually have "holiday" decorations... or finally use all the items we got for the wedding!
The lot to the right of us is available- we like neighbors!!
Hint Hint
One last thing to share about the neighborhood- they do YARD OF THE MONTH! I mean how stinkin' cute.  I doubt I will have much to contribute, but the challenge makes it exciting.

Also, we happily accept visitors/movers this mid-December.  Clearly, being almost 8 months pregnant by then will leave Ryan doing a lot of the heavy lifting.  Promise I didn't get pregnant to avoid having to help move... ;-)

A Little Planning Never Hurt..

If you know me well- you know that I want a little girl.  I mean I would love for all our children to be girls (but its not in my hands, only Gods) and Ryan would be a very broke man supplying all these girls with bows and frills forever and ever.

But for the sake of argument- Lets just say we are having a girl!
Here are some dream nursery's:

I love the neutral colors and a soft pink on the walls. (Mom take note :))
And of course this gem of a nursery!! I couldn't resist!

To play fare, I decide to browse around and find some cute boy nursery's too.  Because if I plan/think I am having a girl for one moment... it will for SURE be a little, bouncing baby boy (which is okay!!).  For the record: I am open to having a boy(s), but I just want 1 little girl to show her all these fancy braiding tips I know!
Ryan will be proud to see these included. :)

Knowing that this baby is just a size of a lemon makes me feel like this reality is forever away- but I know it will be here sooner than we expect.  The first trimester went by without a hitch or any nausea and the second trimester seems simple enough. Knock on wood.

Either way, expect some monograms!! Boy or Girl.

Single Life is the Thing of The Past!

Happily Ever After has begun... to put it simply.  After the wedding and the honeymoon, Ryan moved to Charlotte and I followed first of the year.  After a few months of hunting, I got a wonderful job at a marketing firm. Things were shaping up nicely in Charlotte.

Job Check... then we were on to finding a new home for us.  After many disheartening attempts of house-hunting in Fort Mill, Sc (Just outside Charlotte and less taxes in SC) we were frustrated to say the least. I mean these houses aren't my dream house that we have been waiting so long for and seriously what is with people painting their walls every color of the rainbow!!?
Just to show you some houses we found. Ick!
We decided then, we may look into building our dream house instead.

Now that we are house hunting/agreeing to build, we thought it would be a lovely time to begin the process of trying for a baby.  It will take a year, it will take 5 years, it may never happen.  Lets give this a try (we aren't getting any younger for my dream of 7 to come true). After just a few days of considering trying for a baby, it became reality. We found out on June 7th that we will be expecting our first baby on February 7th.

Meet Cletus the Fetus- As Ryan refers to "it" as. :)

Sure, you would think a growing baby and plans of building a house would be enough for us... but think again.  We decided to add our dream dog to the mixture.  At 12 weeks we got Polo, a King Charles Cavalier (thanks, Nig!).  He has stolen our hearts and chewed on everything that hasn't bit back (that being Violet of course).  Hopefully we can get him house-broken by the time this new house comes!
